Nebraska Hospital Ceiling Sculpture

Well darn it, we didn’t get good pictures of the entire Nebraska hospital ceiling sculpture without packaging debris all over the place, but here are some lovely shots of portions of the mobile—and some full shots with the debris that you’ll just have to overlook…

Fingers crossed we’ll get our hands on some professional shots of this ceiling sculpture, because we’re so happy with how it turned out! It spans the hospital’s cafeteria, and it adds a fun, playfulness to the space.

Huge shout-out to artist extraordinaire Daniel Goldstein for the amazing design and for the opportunity to collaborate on such a beautiful project!

Nebraska Installation Pictures

The ceiling sculpture at the Nebraska hospital is installed and complete! The installation went smoothly (including the looooong road trip from Oregon to Nebraska). Once Matt and Ben get the space cleaned up, we’ll share prettier pictures of the completed piece.

Travel Safely!

A not-so-glamorous aspect of mobile making is ensuring all parts and materials travel safely to their final destination. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes peek at the packaging process for the Nebraska hospital ceiling sculpture.

Matt and Ben are actually road-tripping from Oregon to Nebraska, so be sure to admire the shelving they created in the back of the cargo van to ensure all the parts are safe and sound for the journey.

And check out Matt’s impressive parking job inside the shop—you know, just to ensure the van and/or mobile didn’t get stolen overnight from our downtown studio space. (Fortunately, no people, shelves, or laser printers were damaged in the parking process.)

Nebraska Hospital Ceiling Sculpture Progress

We’re making headway on the collaborative project with artist Daniel Goldstein! This ceiling sculpture will span the seating area of a hospital cafeteria in Nebraska.

In these pictures, we’re queuing up shapes, and pre-hanging them in our shop to streamline the installation process. The installation is later this month, so stay tuned for pictures!

Daniel Goldstein Collaboration

Here is a project we are thrilled about. It’s a collaborative project with the talented artist Daniel Goldstein. This ceiling sculpture will sweep through the seating area of a hospital cafeteria. Working off Daniel’s design, we will work closely with him to fabricate, build, and install the mobile. We can’t wait to dive in!
